Living, Listing, and Loving Park City Utah

In 2016, Park City, Utah, was named America’s Favorite Town by Travel + Leisure. While Park City has long been a top skiing destination, increasingly more people are deciding to put down roots in the mountain town–with good reason.

The Location

One of the best parts about living in Park City is the mountains themselves which provide ample opportunities for outdoor entertainment. In the winter, residents and visitors alike ski down the largest ski resort in the United States or one of the many nearby slopes. In the summer, when the high temperature rarely breaks 85, residents can hike or camp in one of the many surrounding areas.

Being near Salt Lake City also allows residents to reap the benefits of a metropolis without living in the city itself. Out of 200 cities, Forbes ranked Salt Lake the 14th best place for businesses and careers and 23rd in job growth. Park City is also made incredibly accessible; it’s only a 30 minute drive away from Salt Lake International Airport which means you can get just about anywhere from Park City.

The Market

As America’s Favorite Town, Park City has a lot to offer its residents, and while ski resorts, good food, and local restaurants are huge advantages of living in Park City, everyone hoping to buy a home must also consider the housing market.

Luckily, Park City’s housing market is on the rise with an average increase of 5%  in sales prices on single family homes and an average increase of 10% in sales prices of condos and townhomes.

These sustainable growth rates combined with the prime location of Park City and all it has to offer make Park City not only an enjoyable place to live, but a good financial investment.

The Perks

Whether you’re looking for an energetic nightlife or small-town charm, Park City has something for everyone. Park City is home to the Sundance Film Festival, which draws people, including celebrities, from every part of the country. The city also has plans to develop a new arts district in the coming years.

Despite being an ever-growing tourist destination, Park City has retained its small-town charm, particularly in Historic Park City where residents can shop and eat small at local boutiques and restaurants. The area is made complete by a prominent artist community and rich nightlife. Park City’s low crime rate, quality schools, and public transportation also make Park City an ideal place to settle down.
