“The Key” is Blakemore Real Estate’s agent-focused blog series in which educational tips, best practices, and expert insights are shared to help Realtors® excel in their careers.
You may think with the end of summer nearing and kids going back to school that the market is going to start to slow down. However, we’ve always noticed an uptick in the fall once the kids are back in school. So get busy with your “studying” to keep homes selling!
Most home buyers with kids that looking for a new place to live consider the neighborhood and school district to be the most important factor. They also want to be relatively close to those schools. This type of research is standard for home buyers, even if they don’t have kids! They might be researching the closest parks, trails, and freeway access.
So what can “back-to-school” mean for Realtors®?
Here are a few ways to keep drumming up business and stay razor-focused this Autumn!
#1 Research, research, research!
Engage with your target customers with social media. Ask questions by using polls and "yes" or "no" quizzes to gather information on how to approach them with buying a new house. Try things like "5 Signs It's Time to Buy" or "How You Know When It's Time to Sell" — use those prompts to engage with potential clients. You can also use your preferred social media platform to provide value to your target customers and educate them. For example, "10 Tips to Quickly Improve Home Value” or “10 Questions to Ask Your Realtor“.
#2 Bring on the “How-Tos”
Everyone likes an advice column and a set of How-Tos to make the most of their time and money. Plus, it’s an easy play on words! Hold classes or AMAs (ask me anythings) for potential clients to learn more about any topic related to real estate. Consider things that give a peek behind the curtain like: "How to Choose the Right Realtor" or "How to Negotiate Home Offers” or “What your Brokerage Fee Really Is”.
#3 Checklists
Remember back to school planning checklists? Color-coded for each grade? Well, make your own! Color code and prepare checklists for each different type of client from Buyers and Sellers to Investors and First Timers. Clients love to feel like they are part of the process and know what to expect before, during, and after a transaction.
These are just some of the many ways that you can market using back-to-school concepts!
Find ways to appeal to your target clients. Whether it's gathering intel on what buyers and sellers are thinking or providing value through educating them — they will feel more confident reaching out for your services because you’ve been providing value from the beginning!
