So long 2020, Hello 2021! Our Year in Review

Well, it’s official. We made it through 2020. Although tumultuous at times, we are proud of our team and community for their resilience, generosity, and flexibility. In the midst of change (and this year had a lot of it), it’s not always easy to stop and celebrate the small, daily victories that get you one step closer to your goals. That’s why we like to take a moment at the end of each year to reflect on our shared and individual successes as a team and set new intentions for the year ahead.

It’s all in the numbers.

Though numbers alone can’t capture the many ways our team adapted our plans, protocols, and client parties, they do represent the people we connected with, advocated for, and the house keys that found new owners. We have always believed that a home is more than a place to live, but this year, our homes were our everything.

Generated $34,254,848 in total volume sales!

Our small, but mighty team grew this year and helped us serve more people. Though all of us have different backgrounds, we all work toward a common goal every day: to help people build wealth and achieve their real estate goals. Our investment in this goal landed our boutique office over $1M in commissions. Check out some of our past listings!

We closed 60 transactions representing Buyers, Sellers, and Investors

Each transaction represents a transformation—whether it was a renter that became a first-time homeowner or a homeowner that right-sized their lifestyle or a seasoned homeowner that became a proud, new investor.

We kept the client appreciation events going, virtual or not!

We were fortunate enough to host our Annual A+ Party before the statewide lockdown. After that, we got creative and held our Blakemore Garden Party and Breakfast with the Birds socially-distant-style and handed out branded Blakemore Real Estate masks for everyone! To keep our holiday tradition alive, we did a reverse Pumpkin Pie Pop By and brought pies right to your front door. Even when the whole world changed, we found new ways to stay connected to our clients as they are always at the heart of everything we do.

We created 514 new meaningful client connections, and maintained 818 long-lasting relationships!

If you’ve been with us for a decade or just a few months, you know that relationships are at the core of everything we do. Each year our team maintains—with our signature personal touch—comprehensive databases of past clients, future home buyers and sellers, and industry partners like lenders and home inspectors. These individuals are the lifeblood of our business which is why we keep throwing the parties and popping by!

Some Team Updates

In last year’s “Year in Review” post, we shared the following goal for 2020: Recruit more team members who are high-producing, service-oriented, and relationship-focused. This year we are happy to announce that we did just that!

We welcomed new Realtor®, Sydney Battersby to the team and she fit right in!

We welcomed back Shay Ernst, our team Transaction Coordinator and Realtor® in the making.

We celebrated our longtime Managing Broker, Chris Sugden, getting licensed in Florida (in addition to his UT and CA licenses!)

Lastly, we celebrating Lisa Blakemore receiving the Distinguished Service Award from the Salt Lake Board of Realtors.

Intentions for the New Year

  • Maintain the momentum from 2020 by helping more people find their dream homes and investment properties.

  • Continue to show humanity in real estate and be a people-first organization in a growing digital world.

  • Create more digital educational content about the importance of investing in real estate and how to take the first step.

  • Support our community by investing time, money, and resources into community services and charity organizations.

  • Bring enthusiasm and energy to every transaction.

  • Build strong team bonds outside of the office.

At the beginning of 2020, we, like so many of you, had big plans for the start of the next decade. We had a jam-packed marketing calendar, travel plans to incredible professional conferences, and had just ended our annual 3-day company retreat.

Then the pandemic changed the world and then everything else for us and our communities. We worked diligently to innovate and adjust our plans and our protocols. More importantly, we created space for deeper and more meaningful connections with our clients and our real estate referral partners across the United States and Canada. Ignited by the energy that comes from our incredible community all we have to say is “2021, here we come!
